With the new year came a new milestone for Water to Wine Events. We have partnered with Galveston Historical Foundation as the “Expert Planner” for events taking place at the Galveston City National Bank building. This incredible opportunity came after nearly six years of consistency (i.e., pestering about renovation completion dates) and producing incredible weddings on the Island that helped to build our reputation as one of the top wedding planners in Galveston.

Since this beautiful space is a residential property, and is only available for limited and exclusive events, naturally, we didn’t have much to show in the way of imagery. Together with April M. Payne Photography and Beginnings by U.K. Floral Design, we began planning our first editorial to launch in the New Year, and my oh my, the story we told.

Outside of showcasing the 1920 City National Bank (Stay tuned for that blog post coming later this month), we wanted to tell a story of how couples can decide to do things their way on wedding day- regardless of expectations or tradition.

You can begin your morning by simply being together – having coffee, eating breakfast, and talking about the future you’re embarking on. You can get ready side-by-side and spend the entire day with the one they love most; getting excited about celebrating with your friends and family in such a beautiful way – an intimate dinner party style reception in such a grand space, with luxury details that are typically reserved for the “big weddings”.

This project was a labor of love and so fulfilling – even when my pavlova got caught in the wind during load-in and crashed to the ground. (Thank goodness for Umme from Beginnings by UK for swooping in and helping me style a gorgeous and impromptu fruit and creme tower on the piano.)

We worked alongside an array of top wedding professionals from Houston and beyond and even had some “guests” join us for dinner. A huge thank you to everyone involved, and to all the clients we will work with at the Galveston City National Bank!
